Boeung Kak Lake Crisis Profile

I will post more detail later the content of Beoung Kak Lake development Project. It surfaces to 133 ha according to sub-decree of the royal government of Cambodia. It is 123 ha according to last years measuring via Google Map. The projects cost some of 79 millions for development satellite city. The firm hires the area with 99 years term contract. This project impact to more than 4000 families. Three social-policy fund packages has been showing to the families with: (1) Package of $ 8500 plus 2 millions Riels (USD 500), (2) One flat of apartment located at 25 km from Phnom Penh and (3) living in the apartment of the firm ( it last for 5 year time?).

Later, The figure down from 1500 families to 700 families who were not happy or rejected to all of three packages. They asked for 15 hectares land for the 1500 families among the 133 hectares of the project. The government decided to offer 12.44 hectares to the local authority. The local authority hand over the land to their registered-villagers or likely CPP members. The  rest 570 families remains the protects list of the Opposition. There are only some of 100 representative at each protest or strike... That is problem of opposition.
