(17 Aug 2023) The 2nd Army Region revealed that at around 10:30 a.m., an incident occurred where personnel were performing their duties in the Opakasna area near the Anamai Pass, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, where one person was injured by a landmine. The injured person's name is Sergeant Chanarong Wongsachana, a member of the 1st Operations Unit under the Humanitarian Mine Operations Center, National Mine Operations Center, and the Military Command Center (NPOC). The personnel assisted and transported the injured person out of the area to Nam Yuen Hospital in Ubon Ratchathani Province for treatment and initial assessment.
