The M777 howitzer is a towed 155 mm artillery piece. It is used by the ground forces of Australia, Canada, India, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine and the United States. It made its combat debut in the War in Afghanistan.
According to rumours, the first American howitzer M777A2, which was transported to Donbass with 85 pieces on May 12, 2022, has been captured by the Russian military.

Defence Australia The accelerated airlift of Australian military assistance for Ukraine has continued with the latest load of heavy supplies being transported by Ukrainian-based cargo aviation company Antonov Airlines. The flight departed #RAAFBaseAmberley on 5 May, bound for Europe with M777 howitzers and Australian-built Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicles on board.
